Once again the final proved to be an exciting and close game.
Our finalists for 2026 were Arundel who were competing in this cup competition for the first time and Petworth who were runners up last year.
The match started well for Arundel who took the early advantage but Petworth fought back well. The format of four rinks of mixed triples with overall score to win kept the spectators on their toes, calculating the running scores as the ends were ticked off.
Although Petworth won on three out of the four rinks it was Arundel who scored the overall count of 79 shots to Petworths 75 therefore taking the victory for 2026 by just 4 shots.
Well done Arundel and commiserations to Petworth, once again the runners up.
As always Midhurst catered for teams and spectators with Catherine and Rosie’s bacon sandwiches, Gerald and Andy’s bbq hot dogs and Annie and Lorraine’s tea and delicious cakes. And throughout the day Mike and Rosie and Paul and Maria worked tirelessly running a tombola which proved a great hit. Also Keith and Diane working tirelessly behind the bar. Well done to everyone who helped, what a great day.
